Warming up activity: International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Today the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed.

 

Read the following story and answer the final question:

A father and his son are in a car accident. The father dies instantly at the scene and the son is taken to the nearest hospital for urgent surgery.

At the hospital, the surgeon comes in, looks at the boy and exclaims: "I can't operate on this boy".

"Why not?",the nurse asks.

"Because he is my son." the surgeon responds.

How can this be possible?
