My dear students, here are some ideas to manage stress and anxiety during the lockdown/quarantine:
- Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to the news, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting.
- Take care of your body. Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate. Try to get plenty of sleep.
- Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy: listening to your favourite music, watching your favourite TV series or films; reading books; etc.
- Connect with others. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling. Do not lock your feelings down. Let them out with whoever you trust more.
- As for home schooling, try to keep up with regular routines. Since all schools are closed, you need to create a schedule for learning activities and relaxing or fun activities. Try to find a balance.
- Visualisation and guided meditation and relaxing practices can be REALLY CALMING and grounding. I am sharing here with you a nice one from SPOTIFY. Click on the link below:
Also, here is a link to some mental wellbeing audio guides provided by the NHS to cope with Coronavirus (COVID-19)
In addition, I know an app (I use it) called "Calm". You can download the free app and use the free contents: There are meditations for students and meditations and sleep stories too. Maybe you know more (and better) apps of this type.
I hope you find these useful.
Hugs,
Marina
