CROSS-CURRICULAR PROJECT: Observance of the International Noise Awareness Day
(The International Day of Awareness on Noise (INAD) will be observed on April 27, 2022).
Teachers involved in the project:

To inform and make students aware about the noise pollution in which has increasingly become a real problem in bid cities.
This is a cross-curricular project:

Themes:
One of the themes of the day that we have chosen to work on will be “Imagined sounds”, taken from the Italian observance of this day. This theme is intended to stimulate students’ attention to sounds that they consider positive and that they would like to find in a “comfortable and happy” environment. To work on this topic the students will design a poster that will illustrate the theme.
Noise Pollution.
ACTIVITIES
Together, our voices but not our noises will resonate and we will pledge for a quieter world.
DESIGN A POSTER: “Imagined sounds”. The students will design a poster that will illustrate the theme. Pay attention to sounds that you consider positive and that you would like to find in a “comfortable and happy” environment. Design a poster that will illustrate the theme. THE SOUNDS OF MY LIFE. Which sound makes you feel relaxed? Which cheers you up? What is the sound that makes you thrilled? Is there any which makes you nervous? The sound that you find most disturbing? Any sound which brings you good memory? Design a poster which shows them all.

What is NOISE POLLUTION? According to National Geographic, noise pollution can cause health problems for people and wildlife, both on land and in the sea. From traffic noise to rock concerts, loud or inescapable sounds can cause hearing loss, stress, and high blood pressure. Noise from ships and human activities in the ocean is harmful to whales and dolphins that depend on echolocation to survive.
AWARENESS POSTERS
ALL THE STUDENTS (and teachers) WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A FREE BOOKMARK FOR THEIR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE PROJECT.
