Welcome to school year 2023-2024: welcome letter, Teachers team and a very useful SURVIVAL KIT to get through the year with ease
As we begin a new school year, the MEFP-British Council Programme Team welcomes each and every one of you to a brand new academic year: 2023-2024! Please take some time to join our classroom sites (one per core subject: Natural Science, Social Science and Language & Literacy) as you will find it will contain a lot of information and insight to our adventure together!
Language and literacy will be worked on also in a cross-curricular way with science, as we strongly believe that you all must be working with natural science (biology and geology besides physics and chemistry), social science (geography and history), if you are going to be successful with English, maths, information and technology, P.E. arts, etc. outcomes. To this end, meet our 2023-2024 team:
- Please welcome this year to our new Programme Coordinator, Ms. Raquel García Hernández (and language and literacy teacher in Years 3 and 4).
- Ms. Marina Hurtado, our Language Advisor and teacher of Language and Literacy, Natural Science (language skills) and Social Science (language skills) in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4).
- Please welcome this year to our new (Social) Science teacher in Years 3 and 4, Ms. Patricia Clemente Fernández.
- Ms. María José Díaz Vidarte, our Language and Literacy teacher in Years 1 and 2.
- Ms. Susana González Prado, Social Science teacher in Years 1 and 2 and Coordinator of the Erasmus Plus Programme in our school!
- and last, but not least, Ms. Victoria Merino Puerto, our (Natural) Science teacher in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4.
What would you put in a “start of the school year survival kit”? We have thought of the following:
- some crayons: To colour your day bright & cheerful.
- a rubber band: To remind you to be flexible with yourself and your classmates.
- an eraser: To erase your frustrations after a hard day.
- a rubber: to remind your that everyone makes mistakes!
- a paper clip: To hold it all together
- a band aid: To help your fix feelings when they are all messed up!
- a life-saver candy: because a life-saver is what you are to your classmates!
- a toothpick: to help you "pick" out the good qualities in others and in yourself.
- a string: to tie things together when everything falls apart.
- a pencil: to "write your wrongs" and your "goals".
- a jewel: because you are as valuable as any precious stone.
- and a positive mantra for you to tell yourself while looking at the mirror at the start of each day: "I can do this!".
We are already working these days at school to get everything ready and to try to enhance your experience with us, trying to recreate a world of learning possibilities in our projects. Are you ready?
If you have any questions at anytime, please feel free to contact us via Rayuela, email or Google classroom!
Take care and we can't wait to see you in class,
The Team
