INTRODUCTION

While youth smoking rates seem to have decreased, there is still a growing concern about the addictive potential of vaping with both cannabis and nicotine. Research indicates more young people are becoming dependent on vaping without fully understanding the health risks. Schools play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of children and teenagers. It is essential to educate students about substance use so they can make informed decisions about their health. But, let's start from the very beginning: WHAT IS HEALTH, to begin with? Health is the state of physical and mental well-being. Factors work together and affect physical and mental health

Now, WHAT IS A DISEASE? A disease is a disorder that affects an organism's body, organs, tissues or cells.

How do cigarettes affect the body?  (Krishna Sudhir, TED TALK)

Smoking and Your Heart: How Smoking Affects the Heart and Blood Vessels

Smoking harms nearly every organ in the body, including the heart, blood vessels, lungs, eyes, mouth, reproductive organs, bones, bladder, and digestive organs.

Smoking AND Your Lungs: COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and bronchitis

What Is COPD?

COPD, or  chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a condition caused by damage to the airways or other parts of the lung. This damage leads to inflammation and other problems that block airflow and make it hard to breathe.

COPD can cause coughing that produces large amounts of a slimy substance called mucus . It can also cause breathing problems, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms . Because COPD is a progressive disease, its symptoms often develop slowly but worsen over time and can limit your ability to do routine activities. Serious COPD may prevent you from doing even basic activities such as walking, cooking, or taking care of yourself.

Smoking may result in lung diseases.
