To begin with, Athens and Sparta were two of the most well-known Ancient Greek city-states. Throughout history, their reputation has been built on their many achievements and incredible development. In this lesson we are going to focus on these two city-states which, in spite of both being a part of Ancient Greece, they had stark cultural differences. For this reason, we are going to work on how to write a compare (similarities) and contrast (differences) essay. Let's get started with planning our essay. For that, we will work with a Venn Diagram that we will be completing as we read the source text.
