As stated before in this blog, we have used different techniques so that our students could come up with the main underlying concepts of Islamic Art. You may want to revisit our post in the following LINK. Graphic organisers are visual tools that help our students structure and process information. They are particularly useful in teaching history, where the complexity of information can be overwhelming. By using graphic organisers, our students can break down historical events, categorise information, and identify relationships between different factors. Some common types of graphic organisers used in history teaching include:
- Timelines, helping our students understand the sequence of events and the concept of chronology.
- Venn Diagrams, allowing our students to compare and contrast different historical events or figures.
- Cause and Effect Charts, helping students identify and analyse the causes and consequences of historical events.
- Mind Maps, encouraging our students to explore the connections between different historical concepts and themes.
Here I present you the final products our students have produced: a free graphic organiser, using different sources and born from their own process of graphing the given information.
