Our students answer the question 'How can you contribute to "silence the noise"?'

 SILENCE THE NOISE

ACT NOW!

We face an urgent need to lower the volume and enhance peace and quiet in this noisy world. How can you contribute to "silence the noise"?

YEAR 3

Lucas Benito Rodríguez
More or less, I use to shout a lot when I am with my friends, but I now when to stop. I use the headphones with low volume.

Irene Borrego Caballero
Silence is very important for our health and quality of life because it relaxes us and we feel good about ourselves.

Nowadays, there is more and more noise in our environment and this is not good for living in peace. The car engine, music in the streets, restaurants and crowds of people make our lives noisier and cause your hearing to be lost.
In order to contribute to silencing the noise in our lives, we could enable green areas or quiet areas, control the volume of electronic devices such as TV or cell phone or use means of transport such as bicycles to not hear the noise of cars.

All these things, if everyone collaborates, I am sure that we will silence the noise little by little until we can walk through a park without noise and just listening to the birds sing.

Elia Díaz Merino
Mainly there is not so much noise in my life, because I like a lot being in silence and also my father doesn't like the noises, basically he hates the noises, so in my house we are very quiet because we like the silence, so I'm used to being in silence, but the only moment right now where there is a lot of noise is when I go to high school and really, I don't like all that noise that we have in class, because there is a lot of noise daily in class and most of the times end up being annoying to me.

Clara Durán Santillana
We can contribute to "silence the noise" by lowering the volume of the music when we listen to it. There is a lot of noise in our daily life so we should collaborate so we can all enjoy freely our day.

María Granado Delgado
Silence is the absence of sound or noise. It’s a state of quiet where you can almost hear nothing, which brings a peaceful and calm environment. Silence can help you to relax and think clearly, and is important for giving our ears a break from constant noise.

To contribute to "silence the noise," there are different ways people can take to protect their hearing and raise consciousness about the dangers of excessive noise exposure. It’s important to limit the exposure to loud environments, turning down the volume of electronic devices such as mobile phones, TVs, and computers and using hearing protection when necessary.
Regular checkups of hearing will also be important to detect any problems, especially if you notice any symptoms in your ears, such as ringing. Finally, educating, teaching, and showing others about noise prevention can reduce hearing loss problems.

From a personal point of view, I think my life has more noise than it should. Some noise is inevitable and even enjoyable, such as listening to music, however, too much noise can put hearing health at risk.

Working together, our voices will make our dream of a peacefully world a reality.

Carlotta Iglesias Rodríguez
Sometimes we feel very saturated, our ideas come out of our brain in form of anger, sadness, anxiety... Did you know that part of this stress come because of all the noise in our daily life. The traffic while we walk to school, works in the street that do not let you concentrate, that child who never seems to stop crying, the sound of water droplets falling from a faucet with the nuts a little loose and that sound coming from a spoon stirring the coffee. But not everything is phisical, but also mental. All that thoughts or concerns are also noise in our daily life that little by little make us unhappy. Here are some things that we can do to contribute to mute all that noise in our daily life:

-Meditate in the morning or in the evening will make you get rid of all that busy thoughts of things that you dont even know if will happened. Focus on what you are doing know, not what will you do later.

-Listen to your favourite calm music while you are doing some activities that do not need full concentration. Music releases endorphins that make us happier and improve our mood.

-While you are in the public transport or common areas, lower your technological devices of so that the people around do not get disturbe.

Joaquín Merayo Urbano
I have two ways of making our lives less noisy:

1. Start your day in silence: Multiple studies have demonstrated that initiate the day by taking breakfast while listening to the radio or TV, can cause stress on people.

2. Quiet breaks: Usually after finishing our work, or any task we take a break by cheking the social media, watching TV etc... But a very good way of taking a break to disconnect not only from work but from noisy environments, is by going for a quiet walk, just you, and your thoughts.

Iria Pacheco Vidarte
Personally, I think that there's noise in everyone's life. The noise can be the annoying sound of cars and traffic in a city, or the quiet sound of your cow's and sheep in the countryside. The type of noise you hear depends on where you are, the time, the whether... But if I had  to talk about my personal situation, I would say that there's not too much harmful noises in my life. I life in a village, so normally I just hear the cows moo, or the birds around my house tweet. However, there's a big difference when I go to the city. I don't really know if the sound I hear there are prejudicial for me, but I must say that there's always whistle of cars and sirens of ambulance and firefighter's cars. I have both options to stay, but if I had to choose one talking about the noise I will choose my village.

Dayana Piedrahita Tenorio
Look for quiet places: there are places where you can find peace and quiet such as parks, libraries or nature reserves.
They reduce the amount of decibels that reach your ears and protect your hearing health.
Reduce the volume of your TV and music devices: listen more than usual and use headphones so as not to disturb the people around you.
Environmental noise: if you work in noisy environments, you should stop every two hours to regain control of your hearing.
Disconnect from noise: take a few minutes every day to enjoy the silence.
Practice meditation: Meditation can help you find inner peace and inner calm.
Spend a few minutes a day meditating and improve your emotional and physical well-being.

Julia Quijada Collado
Contribute to reduce de noise will be a very healthy impact, we can contribute with:
-promote the use of electric vehicles, because they are generally quieter than internal combustion vehicles.
-organise campaigns to inform about the importance of reducing noise and how everyone can contribute.
-keep the volume of electronic devices and conversations at appropriate levels.

Amanda Rodríguez Dávila
I think that in my life there is not a lot of noise but a lot of sounds because I play the guitar and I love music and I listen to many songs of all genres.

Paola Rodríguez Román
In my life there is a lot of sound, even when my surroundings are calm there is a small noise that accompanies me. It's strange but I like the noise. It's quite cosy and makes me feel safe around me.

Aitana Rosado Flores
I thing for me is not so much noise and I can live with it and for me it's more the day to day sounds like conversations with my friends or when I listen to music that is when I enjoy this "noise" the most.

Mateo Salgado Rodríguez
There is a little amount, but its okay. When there is not any problem or something that disturbs, the live hit different.

YEAR 2

VÍCTOR BLACK ACOSTA
Use public transports because, if all of us use a car is too noise and if each 12 people use one bus it Will be less noise

Élsabet Corral Borrella
We can not use the car as much. In cities there are many cars and they produce a lot of noise.
Also we can not listen to loud music or shouting in the street instead of talking calmly.

Jimena Granado Alcántara
I think I can contribute to "silence the noise" by raising my hand in class, because if we all ask at the same time it creates a lot of noise, and we can also stay silent and not shout

Alejandro Maestre Díez
We can contribute to silence by not talking as much, buying electric cars that sound less and perhaps soundproofing private places to isolate indoor and outdoor sound.
This are some ideas that i have but there are too much more ideas to contribute to silence.

David Molina Pedrosa
Yes, there is too much noise in my life, when I brush my teeth, when my parents put the dish washer or the washing machine, when I watch TV and sometimes when I'm studying the cars make a lot of noise. Also when I eat cutlery makes noise.

By trying to use less speaker while listening yo music.

Marina Portilla Villalobos
To silence the noise, I can´t play the music very loud, especially at certain times, or not play the television very loud. I could get around by bicycle since in addition to contributing to more silence, I help the environment. There is noise in my life since I like  listen the music very loud while I am taking a shower,  I know I should change it. I am lucky, because where I live is a quiet place, since few cars pass by.

Carmen Romero Cañada
Yes ,I think that there is a lot of noise in our life because we produce a lot and we have to do something to reduce it  for example, avoid unnecessary use of motor vehicles.

Iván Salcedo Bravo
A solution can be to inform your local city hall to contact some companies that create a lot of noise and make them to look for a way of work and development without constant noise.

YEAR 1

Violeta Barriga Cava
We can do a lot of things in our daily life but the most important one is to remember that silence is necessary too. Some of the things that you can do are: lower your headphones volume, try not to make much noise in class (having noise levels, for example) and be comprehensive with the people that are more sensitive to the noise.

Lucía Carrasco Mogedano
What can other people do?: When they are in the car driving, try not to turn on the radio or put music. If you go with people you can have a conversation  but if not, you can put soft music and important not open the windows.
what can I do?: If I play music I can play it softer, also if I have to call someone I can call them on a cell phone instead of shouting. I can also turn the television on at a lower volume at night.

Elisa Durán Santillana

Alex Navareño Machacón
Yes but I try to go to quiet places some weekends.

Ana Jael Ortega Santos

We can contribute to ''silence the noise'' by reducing the level of the volume and by turning down the sound from the speakers and from the headphones

Carmen Portilla Villalobos
I can contribute to the noise, respecting the rest hours and playing the music lower.

Elisa Durán Santillana
Yes , I think that in my life there is too much noise , for example , when I don`t hear the bell rings because my classmates speak so loud and another example ,when someone slam the door because he or she is angry .

Ana Jael Ortega Santos
I think I can help silence the noise by speaking more quietly on the street, not using the car because it produces a lot of noise, and listening to music with headphones.

Cynthia Pardo Iglesias
I think we can contribuye to silence the noise: -When the teacher is speaking be in silence because other people don't learn.
-When you speak too loudly try to lower your tone of voice
-When you interrupt someone who is speaking, a lot of noise is also created and we have to try to get one person to speak first and then another.

Ariadna Pastor Romero
I think that in my life and in the lives of many people there is excessive noise. The problem is that we already have most of these causes normalised, such as traffic, construction, railways, concerts... These are some examples of noises that damage our hearing and that can slowly worsen over time.

Daniel Polo Moya
In my life are so many noise because I listen the cars and other things.I can contribute with some actions for your hearing healthy. And I think that with this actions I can contribute how, play mature sounds, put sounds insulation on the wall, having the electrical objects that sound in a low sound,go to natural parts to listen the sounds, for example birds and wáter and tru to do meditation.

Carmen Portilla Villalobos
I can contribute to the noise, respecting the rest hours and playing the music lower.
Yes, in my life there is a lot of noise, for example, the noise of cars passing near my house, the sound of the TV, the chirping of my birds and especially on fair days, since I live near.

YEAR 4

Alejandro Barriga Lozano
There isn't usually much noise around me, due to I don't live next to large roads or problematic neighborhoods.

Jimena Ceme Paucar
There is definitely noise in my life  but it doesn't bother me and there is not too much -
To silence the noise I could reduce the volume of my devices

Jorge Cuño Fernández
As we can’t eliminate unwanted noise one thing you could do to avoid them is to use music or white noises in your house or in the place where you work. This won’t eliminate unwanted noises but music or white noises will keep you more calm than without them and you will increase your efficiency getting more concentrated.

Marina Elviro Guerrero
I can try to reduce unwanted noise by controlling background noise, turning off white noise stuff etc.

Gonzalo Gallego López
I think in our society there is a lot of different noises because the speed of our lifes. But it is really important to be in silent and try to reduce all that noises because then we will noticed an improvement in our heartrate, mental health and productivity.

Leire García García
- How can you contribute to "silence the noise"?
I think, in my case, I can contribute to “silence the noise” throughout doing the common activities but instead of making them in a careless way, do it the other way around, like carefully and making conscious the noise impact.

Elena Martín Cava
I could collaborate first of all, informing people about this problem: if there are a lot of "noises in your life", for example, you live near an airport, there are a lot of cars around where you live, you listen too loud the TV... These types of external sounds are the ones that can affect in our lives, causing some problems, like hearing loss, problems with your health, problems with your quality of life (stress, sleeping problems...)... There are not only "sounds" in our lives produced in the streets, but we also have a lot of thoughts in our heads that can cause "noises" that can disturb us after so much time of thinking about them. My solution to this is to try to get away from all those noises, lowering the volume of things (TV...), trying to isolate yourself from them, using hearing protection (headphones, earplugs...)... And also for all the noises in your head you can meditate, doing activities that distract you...

Vera Muñoz Cava
Listening to music, going for a walk in the countryside, can help you achieve balance in the noise of your life.
But above all, learning to control your mind is the best option.

Guillermo Sánchez González
To silence the  noise we can try to avión putting the music loud in the street.

Lucas Silveira Congregado
yes, lately more than usual

Carlos Vázquez Fernández
Maybe just paying more attention to what others say and don't interrupt while talking should be enough to achieve silence.
