From brain signals to life choices, from organs to society: Drugs + Your Body = It Isn’t Pretty (OUTCOMES)

A SHARED LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Rather than producing identical outcomes, students selected different pathways to demonstrate their understanding. Some groups designed scientific posters and visual displays. Others created board games, interactive materials, cause-and-effect diagrams, information booklets and awareness campaigns: every student worked towards the same learning goals, but not necessarily through the same route.

Throughout the project, our students investigated how drugs affect different organs and body systems, examined the role of the brain and nervous system, analysed real data on emergency-room visits and reflected on the social consequences of risky behaviours. More importantly, they learnt to connect scientific information with real-life decision-making.

The photographs below show some of the final products created by our students. They are the result of research, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. Above all, they demonstrate that meaningful learning happens when students are given opportunities to think deeply, make choices and communicate what they have learned in ways that are personally significant.
