RETRIEVAL & METACOGNITION PRACTICES
It is time to pause and recognise the outstanding work our students have carried out throughout this learning experience, "Listen, Reflect, Transform".
As the final task of the project, students designed an awareness poster that serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it encourages metacognition by inviting them to reflect on what they have learnt during the project and become more aware of the knowledge, skills and attitudes they have developed. Secondly, it functions as a retrieval practice activity, requiring students to revisit, recall and connect the key concepts explored since the beginning of the project.
In creating their posters, students were challenged to link noise awareness with the Sustainable Development Goals, recognising that noise is not simply an everyday annoyance but also an environmental issue with social and ecological consequences. Their work highlights how excessive noise can disrupt ecosystems, affect wildlife, contribute to stress and reduce quality of life in urban environments.
These final products showcase not only what our students have learnt, but also their ability to think critically, make meaningful cross-curricular connections and develop a deeper sense of responsibility towards the soundscape that surrounds them.
