In this activity, you are going to watch a video about Ancient Greece and create a simple timeline with the most important dates and events in Greek history.

Step 1: Watch the video

Watch the video carefully. While you watch, write down any important dates, places, people or events you hear.

  3. What was a city-state?

  4. Can you name two important Greek city-states?

  5. Which city-state is famous for democracy?

  6. Where did the Olympic Games begin?

  7. What were the Olympic Games originally connected to?

  8. Who was Alexander the Great?

  9. Name one thing the Ancient Greeks gave to the world.

  10. What part of Ancient Greek history or culture did you find most interesting? Why?

Create a timeline with the main periods and events in Ancient Greek history. You can use the dates below to help you:
