RAMI MALEK, BECOMING FREDDIE MERCURY: Listening Comprehension
After Mr Robot, Rami Malek takes on his biggest role yet as Freddie Mercury in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Did you know he is Egyptian and an Arab? In this interview he talks with Patrick Abboud about his struggle to become a successful actor in Hollywood.
To the best of my knowledge, anyone that is judging who is the best at something (from his or her point of view) or who is the one who fix better in a job, role or whatever, should act like a blind person, I mean, he or she should “close their eyes” in order not to see the other's appearance, but his or her work.
ReplyDeleteWe are all different and the prejudices won't allow you to see a wonderful person. So, as Rami says, we should provide opportunities to everybody no matter of their past, ideology, religion, gender, studies money. And of course, no matter of their origins.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE HAD TO TRY HARDER AS AN ACTOR BECAUSE OF HIS ARAB ORIGINS? DO YOU THINK THIS IS FAIR? WHY?/WHY NOT
ReplyDeleteI think that the fact he had to try harder just because he isn't from a determined country isn't a fair condition. Because everyone has potential and talent nevermind the place where you're from (we have a very clear example with Freddie Mercury, because he's Tanzanian). It doesn't matter your race, sexuality, colour of skin, ideologies, religion, we're all equal!
From my point of view Freddie Mercury demostrate to the world that doesn´t matter the place where you from ( he were from Tanzania). He works harder than other people because of the country they came and less economic posibilities .This is unfair, doesn´t matter your sex , color or political ideologies , we all should have the same opportunities
ReplyDeleteI think this is totally unfair and from my point of view something should be difficult to achieve if you are bad at it not if you are from one place or another.I think everyone should have the same opportunities independently on what race you are because we are all human beings.
ReplyDeleteTo the top of my mind, it´s unfairly to treat anyone depending on their sex, race or ideology. Everyone has the chance to do all their best to succeed. In my eyes, If we discriminate anyone without reason, we will get more and more separated from each other. The only fact that matter is that people can succeed and to become all their best without worring about their sex, race and ideology.
ReplyDeleteFrom my point of view, treating someone because of his colour skin, origin, gender or religious beliefs, it's totally ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI understand that the main character of the movie needs some requirements, depending on the film, like: measure more than something, have a deep voice...
But it's unfair that an actor like Rami Malek must strive more than the others for the fact of having arab origins. Everyone should have the same opportunities.
It is completely ridiculous and unfair. You search for someone with talent, so that it provides you good resultas. If someone is arabic or african it doesn't mean that he isn't good at his job. Origins doesn't matter, but it does the desire that someone has.
