Providing flexibility in how ideas are expressed removes barriers related to students differences. In this sense the Universal Design for Learning offers as one of its maxims multiple forms of expression facilitation, which typically refers to offering varied ways to communicate ideas or demonstrate understanding. Taking this into account as we are working on the last bits of the book we are reading in our bookclub: The Boy at the Back of the Class, we will get different expressions from different students.
