The USA map of Segregation: An activity within the framework of the #alqareading bookclub "The Hate You Give"
The US is a country with such a history on racial matters and segregation but there is not a uniformity all along the country with big differences among the states. Paula Bote, former student of the BEP, will guide our third graders into a US map and will help them identify the states, areas or big cities according to their levels of ratial integration achievements (high, medium, partially integrated....) as well as some historical or influencing racial events worth being mentioned.
With the information Paula gathered last term, she elaborated Paula will be presenting a Google Earth project showing the most segregated areas in the country with racial events and stories worth being stated ...and finally she will present the project to the third grade students in the next few sessions.
