GLOBAL GOALS AGENDA CHALLENGE 4. Social Justice

The world is not equal. Is that fair? IT IS NOT. I encourage you to learn about the life and experience of someone who is different from you. I invite you to put yourself in his/her/their shoes and see what life is like from their perspective.

Irene Borrego believes Gender inequality is part of social injustice, as her poster shows (I agree with the phrase I have chosen because I think it is NOT right that women are paid less than men for the same job and we have to remove the barriers for women.)

Sometimes when people talk about social movements that want to achieve equity, they mention the term equiality as a direct synonym; something which is not correct. Not all people are the same, so everybody needs different opportunities than others to obtain similar results. That is the only way society can achieve real equity.

I think that inequality is when that people don`t have the same rights and laws

  2. I think that social inequality occurs when a person is treated differently from another person. For example, today there is still inequality between men and women because in some jobs men earn more than women in the same position. Not only is there inequality between men and women, there is also inequality between the billionaires, who are getting richer and the poor people are being dragged into ever more extreme poverty.

  3. I think Social inequality means when fro example two people have different gender, physical or some characteristic that make that person different of other person and for that reason is treated different.

  4. I think a social inequality is when the people has not the same rights, also the same money some of them are very rich and other are very poor. Men and women don't have the same opportunities.

  5. Social inequality is when a person has few resources and therefore does not have the same opportunities as another with more resources.

The quote I’d like the most was the second one. The reason is that I also think that nowadays there must be equality for everyone no matter where you are or your ideals. All of us must have the same chances in life.

  6. Social equality is the characteristic of those states in which all its individuals or citizens without exclusion, achieve in practice the realisation of all human rights.
I like the quote of “I believe that equality for people of all ages is important because people of all ages can contribute to our society and economy. Young and old have skills that we need. We need to provide opportunities for all people and make sure no one is excluded.” because I think that all of us can help everyone like this quote says.

Social inequality occurs when the resources, duties, rights, rules... of society are not distributed equally; and it usually implies a lack of equal access to opportunities, whether due to differences in power, religion, gender, social class…

For me, social inequality occurs when there are differences between people in a place related to education, culture, religion, gender, etc.
It increases when groups of citizens for reasons that benefit from higher levels of investment and public spending than the rest.

My favorite quote was the first one because it mentioned women and I am a huge feminist. I think that quote is a beautiful one.

I think social inequality refers to an state in which people don’t have the same rights or access to different things (education, certain, goods, etc.)

Social inequality is the unfair distribution of resources and opportunities based on ethnicity, gender, economic situation, sexuality, religion and so on.

The quote I like the most is the second one, as I consider that everyone should be granted the same opportunities regardless of their ethnicity and beliefs. Moreover, they should be treated fairly and respectfully, as well as in a way that makes everybody feel comfortable and safe. Each and every one of us has unique ideas and different perspectives, so why should some voices be silenced?

  15. I think we are not equal and we are not going to be equal. For some jobs womens are rejected, but also mens are rejected in some jobs because mens generally are "less careful", there are some countries in wich gender inequality actually exist against woman. But for example about jobs, in Spain is illegal that a women earns less money that a men because they're woman. If they earns less than mens, it's because for example in sports, people watch more mens playing sports than womens, and vice versa with mens in other jobs. a few days ago we talk in class about why the first men to go to the moon was so acclaimed, is not because was the first men, but because was the first human. Doing this that we do in some classes, what they are doing is clasiddi more and divide more genders

  16. Social inequality is when a person is treated differently because of their social position (rather rarer, different tastes than others...), their economic situation (whether they are rich or poor), their religion, etc.
