ESO3 Class Experiment to Test the Presence of Starch in some Food Samples #ScienceWeek #SemanadelaCiencia

One of our Science Teachers, Ms. Vanessa so as to celebrate Science Week at IES Al-Qázeres, explained our ESO3 students that they would be offered certain pieces of different food items to which they had to add about 2-3 drops of dilute iodine solution on them. We handed out some worksheets with information and with a chart to record the findings. For that purpose, Vanessa also explained that if the colour of the food item turned blue-black, then it would indicate the presence of starch in that food and if the colour did not turn into blue-black, then it would indicate the absence of starch.
